WeChat Service Platform Use Protocol and Child Protection Protocol

Welcome to the Yew Chung International School of Shanghai (YCIS Shanghai) Official WeChat Service Platform (“YCIS Shanghai WeChat Platform” or the “Platform”). Before Linking your WeChat account to, and using the Platform, please read the Terms below carefully. Your use of the Platform by logging-in and/or reading contents thereon, etc., shall be construed as your agreement to abide by the following Terms. As owner of the Platform, YCIS Shanghai has the right to revise the Terms from time to time in its sole discretion; and the revised Terms will become effective once they are published on the Platform by YCIS Shanghai. You may find the current Terms on the Platform at any time. If you disagree with any of the terms or its revisions made from time to time, you may unbind your WeChat account at any time.
  1. After linking your account with the Platform, YCIS Shanghai will, through the Platform, have access to your public information (including your user name, profile picture, etc.).
  2. Any operation on the YCIS Shanghai WeChat Platform through your linked account will be considered as your own, and you will be held responsible for the consequences of such operation.
  3. You are responsible for safeguarding your account details, including any passwords used to access your account and our services, and all use of our services under your account. You must promptly notify YCIS Shanghai if you know or suspect that your account or password has been compromised. We will regard all use of your account on our platform as being by you, except where we have received and acknowledged your notification to us regarding your account/password being compromised. Should your WeChat account details become compromised, please note that your child(ren)’s personal information could also be at risk. You agree that YCIS shall not be held responsible should your child(ren)’s personal information become leaked as a result of your account/password being compromised.
  4. The default notification setting is enabled such that you will receive the notices sent through YCIS Shanghai WeChat Platform. You have the right to turn the notification function off from within your personal settings; however, please note that this is not recommended, as once the notification function is turned off, you may miss urgent updates/notices/messages from YCIS Shanghai.
  5. The Platform will be updated and improved from time to time, for purposes of offering additional functionality in the coming semesters.
  6. Unless specified otherwise, intellectual property rights to the contents provided by the Platform (including but not limited to contents of the school’s website, texts, pictures, audio, videos, and graphics) are exclusively owned by YCIS Shanghai. Without prior written consent from YCIS Shanghai or the related right holder(s), you should not use such contents in any manner.
